Better late than never right? :o) Mom and I took and quick trip down to California over the May 1 weekend to see Beth and to take her car down to her. We left Thursday after work and just drove straight through. It took us about 16 hours to get down to Monterey where Beth is currently stationed. We stayed in Monterey Friday night and wandered the town and then made the 10 minute drive down to Carmel Saturday morning, just to say that we'd been there! Then we drove up the coast to San Francisco (about 2 hours north) and spent the afternoon wandering Fisherman's Warf. It was so much fun! Saturday night we stayed at a hotel in San Jose (about 45 minutes from San Fran) because our flight home Sunday left from the San Jose airport. Beth had just gotten the priviledge to leave and stay off base for Friday and Saturday so she was able to stay at the hotel with us both nights and was able to drop Mom and me off at the airport Sunday morning. It was an awesome trip, even if it was a fast one! I wish we had been able to have more time to spend with her but she has school and studying and mom and i couldn't get the time off work but we made the most of the 2 days we had. It was great to to able to see her again! She's so much more relaxed now that she's out of basic training and has even gained back all of the weight
she lost in Texas.
This is a sea lion and her baby, there were so many of them in Montery! Of course we had to see the golden gate bridge! Mom and I drove over it Friday on our way down to get Beth but it was cool to walk across (we only went about halfway)!
I've got a ton more pictures of our trip but it's takinig forever to load them today so this is what you get!
Love ya!
